HELICOPTER, SMALL PLANE CRASH IN SPAIN’S MALLORCA; 7 DEAD
The victims included three adults and two children on the helicopter and two local men on the light plane, the regional government of Spain’s Balearic islands, which include Mallorca, said in a tweet. Local media reported the helicopter was on a sightseeing tour. One of the helicopter victims was Italian, private Spanish news agency Europa Press said.

Police in Stamford say 68-year-old James Denardo claimed he was “testing” to see if the firearms worked. It was around 6:30pm on Wednesday, August 21, when emergency dispatchers received reports of a man firing his guns from a parked car near Scalzi Park. Officers investigating the tip found veteran James Denardo sitting in his Cadillac at the intersection of Fourth Street and Washington Boulevard. They approached him with their guns drawn, ordering him to keep his hands in the air. When they reached the car, they found Denardo had a two-shot derringer pistol in his lap.

A SHEET OF VOLCANIC ROCK THE SIZE OF MANHATTAN IS FLOATING TOWARD AUSTRALIA
The “raft” was captured by NASA Earth Observatory days after an underwater volcano 130 feet down may have erupted near the island of Tonga. The resulting raft of pumice rock is the size of Manhattan and is floating toward Australia, NASA said. Days later, an Australian couple sailing to Vanatu on a catamaran encountered the raft. The sheer volume of the mass, made up of “pumice stones from marble to basketball size,” blocked their ship.

UBER DRIVER ACCUSED OF KIDNAPPING TEEN AFTER SWEET 16 PARTY
Sean Williams, 32, was arraigned Tuesday and charged for the July incident where he picked the minor up around 11:15 pm on Long Island and attempted to convince her to drink with him, according to the Nassau County District Attorney’s office. When the girl protested and asked to go home, repeatedly saying she was only 15, Williams apparently drove in the wrong direction towards his home — where the DA says he planned to sexually assault her.

Kanye West is in Dayton, Ohio right now, presiding over his Sunday Service to honor those who died and were injured during the mass shooting earlier this month.
