ANTONIO BROWN ELIGIBLE TO PLAY FOR NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS IN NFL WEEK 2
Brown, who signed with the Patriots after his release from the Oakland Raiders last week, was accused of rape and sexual assault in a civil lawsuit filed Tuesday in Southern District of Florida. Brown and his legal team have denied the allegations. The NFL decided against placing Brown on the commissioner’s exempt list because no criminal charges have been filed in the case, a person with knowledge of the situation told USA TODAY Sports.

WORLD’S OLDEST PARENTS’ BOTH IN INTENSIVE CARE AFTER DELIVERING TWINS
The couple from India, both in their 70s, had created an international stir back on Sept. 5, when their baby girls — conceived through a donor egg and delivered by cesarean section — arrived full-term and healthy. Not surprisingly, it’s now the babies’ elderly mom and dad who are not doing so well, The Times of London reports. And as the new parents — mom is 74, and dad is 78 — remain in an Indian ICU, new controversy is whirling in the already ethically suspect case. The doctor who handled the pregnancy is insisting he was tricked into believing that the mom was in her 60s.

GEORGIA’S ‘WEAR PINK FOR WENDY’ CAMPAIGN IS A BIG SUCCESS
Arkansas State coach Blake Anderson recently lost his wife, Wendy, to cancer, so the Georgia Bulldogs are doing something really cool to honor her. Anderson said before the game that he expects Saturday’s contest to be an emotional one. He just returned to the sidelines last week after missing Week 1 to mourn Wendy’s death and spend time with his family. Now, though, he’s back with the Red Wolves and Saturday’s incredible gesture from Georgia fans likely means a lot to him and to his family.

BANGBROS CLAIMS BID FOR HEAT’S AMERICAN AIRLINES ARENA
BangBros, best known for filming sex scenes in vans, announced Thursday it had submitted a $10 million bid to replace American as title sponsor of the county-owned arena. Miami-Dade has said it’s in talks with national companies to replace American at a higher price than the previous $2 million-a-year deal. There was no official comment, but it’s safe to say those talks do not involve a porn company. Any sponsorship deal is subject to a vote by Miami-Dade commissioners and a potential veto by Mayor Carlos Gimenez, who is overseeing negotiations. When the Miami Herald asked Gimenez’s office about the BangBros proposal, a representative replied: “Seriously?????”

More than 689,000 pupils were affected in Valencia alone as nearly 300 municipalities decided to close schools, AFP reported.

YOUTUBE IS SHUTTING DOWN ITS TV-FRIENDLY WEB INTERFACE
If you tend to watch YouTube using the Leanback interface on a home theater PC, you might have to scrounge for an alternative. YouTube is warning visitors to the Leanback web portal that this version “will be going away soon.” This won’t preclude you from watching YouTube, of course, but you’ll have to turn to another device f you want an interface that’s easier to navigate from across the living room. We’ve asked YouTube for comment.

TIM TEBOW CALLED OUT FOR SAYING COLLEGE ATHLETES SHOULDN’T MAKE MONEY
Tebow went on the network’s daily hot-take factory show known as First Take and gave the show the attention it craves when he unleashed a rant about a California bill that would allow college athletes to profit from endorsements. The former Florida Gators quarterback is vehemently against students making any money and this did not sit well with many folks in the media, and he was called out repeatedly on Twitter. There was even some good, old fashion ESPN-on-ESPN crime.

UAW CALLS NATIONAL STRIKE AGAINST GM, FIRST BROAD STRIKE SINCE 2007
The strike comes against the backdrop of a federal corruption investigation that has implicated union President Gary Jones and his predecessor, Dennis Williams. The action does not include Ford and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, whose UAW contracts were extended while the union tries to negotiate a deal with GM that would be template for talks with the other two companies. The union let the GM contract expire at midnight Saturday, but told autoworkers with Sunday shifts to report. The union represents about 46,000 GM autoworkers at 55 facilities in the United States. UAW spokesman Brian Rothenberg on Sunday evening told the Associated Press that contract talks would resume at 10 a.m. Monday.
