SPIDER-MAN BACK AT MARVEL IF APPLE BUYS SONY
Sony Pictures chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra has stated Sony is not going to be sold, but obviously that could change, especially if Apple offers an amount Sony can’t refuse, which would be to bolster the new Apple TV Plus streaming service. The past few years have seen murmurings of Sony Pictures possibly being sold, as earlier in the year it was also reported that Jeff Bezos and Amazon were interested in buying the studio. What’s rather interesting about the potential of Apple buying Sony is that J.J. Abrams is said to have turned down a mega-deal with Apple for WarnerMedia with one of the reasons being because of concerns about Apple’s lack of a theatrical distribution model. If Apple does buy Sony, we see that problem would be solved (likewise for Amazon).

FLORIDA MAN AND WOMAN HAVE SEX IN BACK OF POLICE CAR AFTER GETTING ARRESTED FOR DUI
The Miami Herald reported that a Nassau County deputy witnessed Aaron Thomas, 31, and Megan Mondanaro, 35, riding their bikes with no lights down the middle of South Fletcher Avenue (A1A Highway) in Fernandina Beach. Another vehicle almost clipped both of them, and that’s when the deputy pulled them over, according to the police report. The deputy said both Thomas and Mondarao smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes, so he put them in the back of his patrol car. That’s when they began getting randy. “While I was outside of my patrol vehicle, Megan and Aaron took their clothes off and started to have sex,” the deputy’s report stated. “When I opened up the door to stop them, Aaron was naked and Megan had her pants down.”

THE WE COMPANY REPORTEDLY WILL PUT ITS PUBLIC OFFERING ON HOLD
We’s plans for a $20 billion public offering have been hampered by questions about its corporate governance and the ultimate value of a company that private investors, through multiple rounds of funding, once thought was worth nearly $50 billion. But under the scrutinizing spotlight of the IPO process, investors have been publicly and privately balking at that sky-high valuation and the company’s questionable governance practices under chief executive officer and co-founder, Adam Neumann, according to The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the news that The We Company would put its offering on hold.

JUSTICE DEPARTMENT SUES EDWARD SNOWDEN OVER PUBLICATION OF NEW MEMOIR
The Justice Department said it is not seeking to stop the release of the book, which is titled “Permanent Record” and was published by Metropolitan Books, an imprint of Macmillan Publishers. Instead, the department said it would seek to recover any proceeds Snowden earns from the book, which was published Tuesday. The suit also names Macmillan, solely to ensure that no revenue from the book is transferred to Snowden or at his direction while he lives in exile in Russia, out of the grasp of the U.S., where he faces espionage charges that could land him behind bars.

Disney’s new service will cost $6.99 per month or $69.99 for a full year, while Apple’s will cost $4.99 per month for a family subscription. Both services are expected to launch in two months.

DONALD TRUMP KEEPS TELLING WORLD LEADERS THE SAME BIZARRE STORY ABOUT KIM JONG UN
The story got its latest outing at last month’s summit in Biarritz, France, as the world leaders were gathered around the table for the formal meeting. When the discussion turned to North Korea — which had spent much of the month firing short-range ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan in a serious threat to stability in the region — Trump went off on a tangent, spending some 10 minutes rambling about his great relationship with Kim, leaving the other G7 leaders mostly speechless, three sources with direct knowledge of the discussions told BuzzFeed News. All the leaders — apart from new British prime minister Boris Johnson, who was making his G7 debut — had heard Trump tell the exact same story the same way the last time they all gathered round the summit table, in Canada last year. Central to Trump’s bizarre riff is the series of “Little Rocket Man” tweets the president directed at Kim two years ago.
