Actor Larry David did a very ‘in-character Larry David’ thing in choking Elmo, the Muppet from Sesame Street, live during his (Elmo’s) segment on the Today Show while waiting on his (Larry David’s) segment. David apologized that morning, then amped up the jokiness of the incident with Seth Meyers on the Late Show later that night. This is not a takedown of Larry David (the actual man or the character) but a short celebration (of both).
