WHAT HAPPENED TODAY:

2001: Coordinated attacks resulted in the collapse of the World Trade Center in New York City, destruction of the western portion of The Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and a passenger airliner crash in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. In total, 2,974 people were killed in the September 11, 2001 attacks.

2002: The Pentagon was rededicated after repairs were completed, exactly one year after the attack on the building.

2021: The twentieth anniversary of 9/11 was marked by President Joe Biden and former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton in New York.

WORD OF THE DAY: contusion [ kuhn-too-zhuhn, -tyoo- ]

an injury in which the skin is not broken

The doctor examined the dark contusion on the patient’s shoulder, confirming it was a deep bruise without any skin laceration.

DAILY AFFIRMATION: I Am Deserving Of Happiness, Love, Peace, And Prosperity.

Reduces Negative Thoughts: Affirming your worthiness of happiness, love, peace, and prosperity can significantly reduce negative thoughts, allowing you to maintain a positive outlook and keep challenges in perspective.

PLUS, TODAY WE CELEBRATE: Patriot Day

Patriot Day on September 11 honors the memory of the nearly 3,000 innocent victims who died in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Each year Americans dedicate this day to remembering those who died and the first responders who risked their own lives to save others. For many, September 11, 2001, began like any other weekday. We made our way to work. Children attended school. We shopped, had coffee, waited in line at a drive-thru. Those of us who weren’t in New York City heard the first reports on the radio or television. A friend or neighbor alerted us to a plane flying into one of the Twin Towers. We felt disbelief. An accident, perhaps, a miscalculation. Then, a second plane flew into the second tower. Our disbelief turned into uncertainty and concern.
