1949: The Radio Corporation of America, sometimes known as RCA, announced a new 7-inch, 45 rpm phonograph record. Soon, the 45 would change the pop music business.

1999: The Sopranos aired its pilot episode on HBO.

2023: AT&T customers with digital landlines learned they will no longer be able to dial 411 or 0 to reach an operator or get directory assistance. AT&T in 2021 ended operator services for wireless callers, although customers with home phone landlines could still access operators and directory help.
