1964: U.S. Surgeon General Luther Terry reported smoking may be hazardous to one’s health. This was the first such statement from the U.S. government.
2009: One of the world’s most famous chocolate makers, Cadbury, announced it would warn chocolate lovers that its product contains milk. Cadbury said it was necessary to print warnings in capital letters in yellow boxes saying “CONTAINS: MILK” in case people who are allergic to milk do not realize that there is milk in Cadbury milk chocolate.
2020: Diego the giant 100-year-old tortoise retired after his high libido was credited with saving his species. He lived for years at the San Diego Zoo and then on Santa Cruz Island, Galapagos, before retiring there. Diego fathered more than 900 offspring.
